Anormala: standup and songs
Having been labeled as both "abnormal" and "bad" ("mala") more than once in her life, comedian Rachel Arieff draws on these epithets to create the title of her new Spanish-language show: ANORMALA.
With a knack for finding humor in the darkest subjects, Rachel specializes in bold social commentary through biting reflections camouflaged by an innocent and positive attitude. In ANORMALA, she applies her unique perspective to the universal themes that concern her, such as aging and death, identity, sex, the meaning of life, and the state of the world today. A versatile artist, she rounds out the show with original songs with such classy titles as "Asshole," "Ode of Hate to the Waxer," and "Pervert on the Nude Beach."
Rooted in the stand-up comedy scenes of New York and Los Angeles, Rachel Arieff is an experienced trilingual comedian (English, Spanish, Catalan). An American who has lived in Barcelona for over 20 years, she made a name for herself in Spain through her numerous Spanish-language monologues that lead her to appear on Paramount Comedy, and her legendary Anti-Karaoke parties.
Note: the show is in Spanish.
"The funniest woman in Barcelona."
