Anormala: standup and original songs in Spanish
Having been labeled as both "abnormal" and "bad" ("mala") more than once in her life, comedian Rachel Arieff draws on these epithets to create the title of her new Spanish-language show: ANORMALA.
En ANORMALA, Rachel plays with the idea of what constitutes a "good" or "bad" woman, applying her sharp joke-writing to such hilarious topics as sex, identity, disillusionment, aging and death.
A versatile artist, she rounds out the show with original songs with elegant titles like "Asshole," "You Gave Me Crabs" and "Pervert on the Nude Beach."
Rooted in the stand-up comedy scenes of New York and Los Angeles, Rachel Arieff is an experienced trilingual comedian (English, Spanish, Catalan). An American who has lived in Barcelona for over 20 years, she made a name for herself in Spain through her numerous Spanish-language monologues that lead her to appear on Paramount Comedy, and her legendary Anti-Karaoke parties.
"The funniest woman in Barcelona."
